SkipTheDishes signs Olympic sponsorship

The multi-year deal will initially be activated with a focus on keeping Team Canada's loved ones connected during the Games.

SkipTheDishes Canada has signed a multi-year deal with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) to become its official food delivery app.

In addition to the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, the deal also covers the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

One of the main ways SkipTheDishes will activate the sponsorship for the Games this year is through the “Family & Friends Portal.”

Seemingly inspired by how friends stayed connected over streaming movies together during the pandemic, the portal is a place where loved ones of Team Canada athletes can digitally watch events, talk to each other, share photos and “engage as a community,” something they are not able to do in person this year, as they have for past Games.

SkipTheDishes is also providing support by delivering meals from local restaurants to wherever in the country they may be.

The COC partnership is the latest in a series of high-profile sports sponsorships for SkipTheDishes, having secured rights as the official meal delivery service of both the NHL and Hockey Canada in the last year.
