Peloton takes the top in Toronto: Media Monitors

Meanwhile, a host of new brands upped their buys in Montreal.

Peloton has boosted a radio campaign amid a push to be on holiday gift lists, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Nov. 15 to 21.

The fitness company increased its Toronto radio buy, jumping from 14th to number one, pushing last’s week’s number one and two advertisers – CAA and The Bay – down by one spot each. Goodfood, a regular top radio buyer during the spring and summer, returned to the airwaves at number four, with GoDaddy rounding out the top five.

By category, banks and financial institutions reclaimed their spot as the most active radio advertisers, followed by business and consumer services and food retailers.

In Montreal, with the Government of Quebec once again holding on to the top spot, there were a number of new brands entering the top ten below it. Amazon was in second with its radio-heavy recruitment push, with Sunwing increasing its radio buy to get people thinking about upcoming winter travel. Nissan’s radio campaign for its Kicks SUV and National Bank rounded out the top five.

Categorically, government ads were the most present on the airwaves, followed by business and consumer services and automakers.
